Gas has run out way to quickly?

i bought a 2ltr argonsheild bottle from BOC who pressurised it to 220. They said it was like the same amount as about 8 disposable bottles .ive only done a bit of welding on the front corner of my van and a small bit on the dill and its run out! .i didn't notice any leaks and I have all new kit ,can't understand what's happend but I'm now going to have to get another bottle to finish the job .this time I'm hoping they can check my regulator fitting to see if it's ok .im sure the link fitting that hoes from the mig to the reg was fine .
Anyone had issues before

I had it set on 12 and the chap from BOC told me as it's a much higher pressure that there's more gas in the bottle and that it would last for 2 hours constant welding ?

you only get 10 mins solid welding from a disposable so he has contradicted himself

So what are saying ,that the guy from BOC has told me a load of bull as im going to see him tomos and assuming my reg etc isn't leaking im not going to be best pleased as I would have probably got the next size up .

How did you measure flow rate of 12?

12 is a little high for indoors, usually around 10 even lower with no drafts also unless you have a flow meter the scale on the regulators are not very acurate

On the dial on the regulator .i was told to set it to somewhere between 10-12

Ahh ok well I'll drop the gas a bit more but it shouldn't of run out with the small amount of welding ive done .

I usually use argoshield universal at 7-8 indoors, with no problems, but measured using a peashooter. My (new) regulator barely reads at this. If i set regulator to 8, peashooter goes off the scale. I suggest this may be your problem.

So where does the flow meter fit ? Is it the opposite side to the gas hose outlet ?

the flowmeter goes between the reg and the hose to the welder

Yeh not 2 hours ,I'm a bit ****** about that I have to say .Hopfully the next bottle correctly set will last long enough to do the rest of the job
