right, I am currently on a payg gas meter with a quantum card. gas ran out yesterday so I went down the shop, put some credit on it and stuck it in the meter.
now, it is giving an error 'card fail 35' every time I put the card in. I have tried about 40 times, have even put contact cleaner on the chip and squited a bit in the reader, still nothing.
I have contacted the national grid whos name is on the meter and they told me to contact wales and west utilities, who in turn told me to contact my supplier (spark energy, who are useless) who have now in turn told me to contact the grid again.
is there anything I can do myself to sort this out as I am without gas, heating or hot water and have a 1 year old that is difficult to keep warm.
I am waiting for spark to phone me back but apparently this takes an average of 5 days and I cant wait that long.
needless to say I will be switching after this, even if it means paying a bit more as long as I get a better service
