gas conversion help

hi all start with a great site

right what i need to know is . i use a clarke migwelder 100e turbo not the best but its what i could aford .converted to gas but costing me a furtune in argon/co2 bottles as welding newfloor and inersills outer sills on me landrover the bottles are only lasting 10-15 mins b4 running out is this normal could i get bigger bottles for this welder

i have a new 12ltr bottle i use for my air rifle witch runs at 300 bar could i get this converted to run on c02 if my welder works ok with that hope some one can help thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Using large bottles of CO2 with a Clarke is no problem, drop Weldequip on here a PM. Bottles are easy enough to get, read the shielding gas thread for more info.

Don't mess with using wrong gas in the wrong bottles.

hi mate you will need a gas pip extension for a bigger bottle and the correct regulator for co2 and the thread on your bottle
weldequip will help you out as he sells the pipe with the regs

Weldequip also sells some bits on Ebay, he currently has:
This Link which has the CO2 regulator & pipe that you require, in addition it includes an adaptor for use with Argon/CO2 mix bottles.
I've just bought one of these and can recommend Weldequip.

hi thanks for all the help just carnt fined where i can buy a bottle for argon/Co2 mix with out hiring it if any one can help out where i can buy would be great help as i dint have a clue where to start am in the hull York area thanks once again

Get in touch with weldequip and look on hobby welds website, you can get a big bottle of co2 for £50 deposit on bottle and the price of the gas
