gas bottle refilling

i have a large argoshield bottle that belongs to my dad, i have been using flux cored wire for a while now and its quite expensive , ive been told that you need a licence to get them refilled, is this true? also what does it cost to have it refilled, cheers

Not a licence but a contract of hire. You pay yearly / monthly for the bottle rental & then for each refill of gas PLUS a rip of transaction charge for EACH time you have a refill.

There are some companies that charge differently and are more (FAR more!!) suitable for the hobby welder, its just a matter of luck if you live near them.
