Could you not do the demolition yourself and save a few £ ? Or maybe insulation of inside and Osb yourself ?

I probably could but would prefer to pay them as it will get the whole job done quicker, pricewise it comes in our budget and I'm saving a few quid buying the doors at a discount and disposing of the asbestos roof myself (council tip will take it if double bagged).

Just realised I never updated this.After being f****d about by the builder it was finaly finished about october time so about 8 months with me needing to finish the cladding and guttering myself, luckily I managed to get the materials from him so didn't loose out money wise. Costs in the end were about a thousand above the estimate due to material price rises(cladding doubling in price)so still worked out cheaper than the more expensive quote.Going for the dutch barn style roof was a great idea as I have a nice roof storage space which is more usable than a standard roof would be.All now set up as a small home auto upholstery workshop.
