One firm I worked at basically said as long as we leave it sealed and correct it doesn't matter what we find on arrival, that did mean some interesting rewiring at times

I also in no way kept a load of crimps and seals and fuses when I left......

Im on gas for the cookers, central heating , and showers. so i hope the 100A fuse will survive

Are you sure it's a 100A fuse ?

Around here they fit a fuse that is labelled as 100A but actually it only has a 80A wire inside, something to do with the fuse at the transformer being only 80A

Yeah, I aquired a "spare" set early on in that employment

Are you sure it's not a 60amp fuse fitted?
Most are!

It says 100A on the side, so without opening it up I've no idea what's really there.

When you run a cable run a 8 core phone/ alarm cable.

I wished I did when I ran my new cable to the garage.

Yeah got some cat 6 network cable to add a wifi point out there, as the signal is terrible.

So I've gone for 10mm2 cable. and I will protect it with a 60 amp breaker and all should be well, and then the distribution box in the garage will handle all the individual final circuits.
