Garage floor help

Hello all,

Just wondered if any one knows if I can pour self levelling compound over an already painted concrete floor as the floor is quite rough in places an whe I painted it last time the paint forms little puddles that take ages to set . So I was hoping to put a thin coat over the top just to fill the holes to make repainting it easier , but then I thought if it doesn't bond well it will cause even more problems .

As usual any advice will be much appreciated

Compound is not recommended for anything deeper than 5mm, how bad are your dips ? I used sharp sand and pva mixed together to level some bits but that was being carpeted over for walking only. If it's getting any heavy traffic over it a thin film of anything is not going to last long.

I can't think of anything self leveling that will stick to the paint :-(

Most good self levelling compounds need a primer. If its in a the holes only then it will be ok, but if its all over you he surface I think it will fail. Use a industrial epoxy leveller compound fo warehouses, etc, not one for domestic floors.

A factory I worked in used Belzona Magma screed to repair damaged concrete and it stood up to traffic well including fork truck use, I bet it's not cheap stuff though.
