Garage door remote advice

I need to get replacement remote controls for the garage roller door.... One lost and the other becoming iffy on the 'open' button. Just been quoted £120 for two official units - so I'm hoping for a cheaper aftermarket alternative.
The base unit is a Teleco TVNRG868E02 and the remaining remote is a TXP868N013
So I know it's an 868Mhz device, but I've got no info on coding differences. Anybody understand this and can advise?

Maybe try taking the temperamental remote apart, and giving the contacts a clean with isopropyl alcohol?

Search for 868Mhz remote in eBay... It's what I used to do. Cheap enough at a couple of quid to try

If garage has WiFi. Install relay to control from your phone instead

I did... Saves carrying a remote all the time and stopped my keys pressing the buttons!

That’s why I don’t have one in the garage ( detached, alleyway entrance onto a field ) if I went in the front door and knocked the button I’d have an empty garage.

Not all controls use the same frequency ......... as I discovered . There are a hell of a lot on eBay , getting the right one can be very hit & miss even if Mr Whoooo says it is 33 Mhz etc etc often they don't work

So I took the cover of the depowered control box and try and identify what frequency the crystal is .. When I set it up I just happened to write the info inside the covering lid & put a shrunk photo copy of the installation sheets in a plastic bag inside the box .


With judicious use of a fine point soldering iron , a steady rested hand and a solder sucker or de- soldering wick you can remove the offending switches and replace them

I've kept most of the cleaned & tested working switches from failed units and have used them to repair several for family & friends .
