This mustang im doing, turns out it has galvanised sills.
Having carried out repairs etc (yes, galve removed before welding) i now need to prime. The owner stripped the car to bare metal, so apart from the repaired area, the sills have exposed galv.
So what to prime with? Back in the day, in my railway days, we used to apply mordant solution to fresh galve before painting.
What should i be doing here? Its 50 years old galve, but has been sanded in some areas so effectively fresh?
I need to get expoxy on this car as it will be standing around for a long time, but not convinced i should be applying direct over galvanising.
Thoughts?
