I'd stick welded all my 80 bits of stuff , they said knock off the scale then get the whole thing shot or sand blasted then covered in a tarp to keep it clean & dry & bring it in .
Don't forget to drill enough 5 mm or so air holes to let hot heated air out and molten zinc drain out holes in every part that has one or more closed off ends .
I had a pal who didn't put the molten metal drain holes in , so they filled the stopped 100 mm square tube with zinc which was very expensive for they charged on how much zinc coating metal was used by the weight difference of weigh in to weigh out on completion .
He’s lucky they didnt just bang their own holes in! If you can you’re better of speaking to them as putting the holes in the right place is a bit of an art form. It’s to let the air out as much as stop it going pop. if the holes are wrong it rolls over in the tank and causes all sorts of issues.
They usually pickle it then dip it in the zinc tank. They really don’t like anything foreign on it as it ruins the tanks, like paint grease etc etc
if it’s clean metal then it’s normally ok as is. I’ve not had anything blasted before galv and I don’t think they did it on site beforehand.
They are used to dealing with people who ask for one offs so it doesn’t hurt to ask
