fuse help

hi there is a fuse on the front of my wellder it says use a 1.6A fuse

should i use a time lag fuse or a quick acting fuse ?

as the old one dident say anying on it other then 1.6A 250V

bit of a stupid qustion but yer thought i beter check

Hi,i would think that the fuse is for the wire feed motor control...therefore id use a time lag fuse....they are more resiliant to the motors startup inrush current

hmm that is a bit of a puzzle
if it were fast blow it would have an f on it and if it were slow blow i think it would have s/b on it so you should assume its a standard fuse unless you can find otherwise
fast blow might fail prematurley and slow blow may do more damage in the event of a fault

if its not marked then usually assume its a f type

yer i bought 10 of each from maplin but yer i was just looking at the old one its got a F on it so i put a quick blow one in it as they have a F on t them 2
