furniture wax is it all the same

i run out of furniture waxand going to buy some more the last lot i had was clear and did not have a shine to it and i like that and the finsh it gives but was bought 15 ish years ago and looking around they do not make it any more

i want a clear wax any recomendations please

I use Briwax Original for wood work projects. The more layers you put on the better it get. Last project was some wood turning, I applied wax while job was still on the lathe and buffed it out. Looks like glass

Another for briwax on most stuff, Some things i use danish oil like hard woods unless its near water like the oak kitchen work tops then i use tung oil

Briwax or Liberon usually. A few others are okay in a push, such as Flag.

I always steer clear of the Colron products though.

the colron was what i had for the last 10 plus years bought it when i did not know better when i first moved in to my first house its lasted that long but since moving in to my new house used it up fast new wood and vices and such so if this is better than the colron stuff should be great i was not uninpressed with the old stuff

The one I had was a cream coloured stuff and quite soft. Always seemed impossible to buff to a shine.

Just like my car paint jobs...i go for the shabby look to avoid the shine showing the bad bits..

Sorry about the dubble post as it is on the forum else where but as not every on on this thread will see it just wanted to finsh the thread off the new wax is great got a bit of a shine to it but more of satin finish im ok with that and goes on well the finshed table with 6 coats of wax
