I have just removed the fuel tank from my project and find that the interior is full of rust(it has been stored for years empty).
What chemicals are available to clean the rust from the tank interior.
I prefer phosphoric acid, electrolysis doesn't necessarily get in corners and far away areas, acid gets the whole lot clean metal.
The Frost cleaning system is probably the Kreem sealant cleaning system,
Which is phosphoric acid and acetone[part A and part B].
That is how I do it. A cleaned tank needs sealing as it will flash rush while you watch it.............
my dad had a similar problem on his trike so we flushed the tank with an acid kit, then it was sealed with an epoxy fuel tank sealing kit as we found a few tiny holes its spot on now
The Frost kit is from POR, it includes their acid etch and marine clean, and the resin. I used the POR resin as it was cheapest for the volume even over fleabay shops, but had acid and acetone and celly thinners to swill out. Worked OK but a lot of faff.
