Frosty Regulator

Been mig welding some heavy plate for long periods today. Why do i get a build up of frost on the argoshield regulator - i thought it was only Co2 that did this - Is gas pressure too high, or is it just because a lot of gas has flowed through the reg?

Lots of gas flow causes it so don't worry- happens to me all the time when welding and i'm really stingy with gas! I get frosting on my oxygen reg as well if i'm doing alot of cutting.

Any gas expanding from a compressed state requires heat to do so, and it draws this heat from the environment.
