French routes

Who was it that offered me an alternative route around Paris a while back? Could have been malcolm or El Fluffo. If the offer still stands I'd be gratefull as the strikes over there must be causing havoc around gay Pareee and we're heading down next tuesday to shut our house up for the winter and I don't want to get stuck there.

Forecast for our area there says -8C tonight so a bit parky but we are just down the road from Aurillac, officially the coldest place in France!.

Its me, Ill just fire off a mail to someone for it, we all use it and its got refined over time, so will get the latest
I bet the periphique is hell anyway this time of year without the strikes...
Will get back to you this weekend with it. If push comes to shove a older version is wrote out in the cab of my van in the glovebox...

Mr F, would you send me the same non-peripherique route too? Drainetta is a regular visitor to France on work, mostly plane and TGV, but often enough par voiture, so hints and tips for circumventing Paris (if not heading in), are vraiment utile.

Mercy bouquet, vous est tres gentile M. Fluffy, le peripherique c'est tres cack a l'heure du rush. Nous avons un grand voyage de 600 miles dans un nuit.

This is why I've just fitted a pair of big Hella spots on the front of the trooper with 100 watt bulbs to supplement tha pretty poor headlights. Also bunged a set of the ring 60% brighter bulbs in the headlights as well. I'm hoping for a trouble free journey but we're going to hit Paris around rush hour and would like to avoid it if possible.

I have a hangover from quaffing five bottles of champagne as Kir Royales last night with a couple of friends, we were attempting to finish off the surplus from the christening. Had it with some foie Gras and lots of other delicacies. In contrast have the in-laws around tonight for beer and a curry!

I pm'd and emailed it you for good luck, but for the others here it is too. If you look at a map of france, it avoids paris completely by going west of it, if the direct route through paris is clear, the paris way is about 1.30 hr quicker on average, but if you hit *any* traffic on the paris route, it works out slower and on one glorious occasion was 10 hrs slower...
This route is also cheaper on diesel costs for me, and the toll costs are a lot lower too. Anyway the route, I thought I had it as a series of waypoints too, but I think its stored in the mrs's gps. I generally use a piece of paper with the major headings wrote on it though... :-
