Free 3D modeling software

I use this for 3d modeling on linux, though it comes in all flavours. Totally free, full featured and easy to use. Has very good render engine plugin to see what your creations look like in the round. Well supported with a small but helpful community to help if you need advice.

MOD Link deleted - looks a bit iffy I don't see how a 4kb file can be a 3d modelling program. Even putting http://www.k-3d.org/ into my browser just downloads the file.

A link to their website would be better so we could choose which version we wanted.

I had a look at the site and the windows version download was 67 Meg???

I'll take a quick peek and see what it has to offer - I'm a regular Blender user and love that very much!
Not likely to change - but will check it out anyway.

I did now just notice that K3D is a "procedural modeller" and I remember loving that system when I first came across it in other 3D modelling apps.

K-3D crams a lot in for a free piece of mesh modeling software. You get lots of plugins included to make things easier.

@greyshirtguy,

I tried Blender but find the UI confusing and not as intuitive as K-3D. You also get some little visual tutorials to show you the basics with k-3D.

The link is fine, it seems their web site is playing up. Managed to see the site with a cached copy on google, and all of the links try to download the file.
