My dad has a Ford Fusion 1.4tdci

recently it was a sod to start and I noticed a fuel pipe had rubbed through and sleeved it to stop it happening again

A month later it’s now doing the same thing and there is a smell of fresh diesel on the floor

does anyone know if you can buy this hose, if so what is it called

the one I’m after is next to the fuel filter housing in a t shape

That pipe next to the fuel filter in a T-shape is the vacuum hose, consisting of the non-return valve for the brake servo, and the smaller hose a branch off for various engine actuators.

The hose you've sleeved looks like the main line up from the tank, which IIRC come as a pair, and are a pain to fit.
I'd find the source of the leak.

It had a leak about 5 years ago under the air box that was sleeved due to the air box rubbing on it

From a quick look in the damp road today it is the front to rear fuel pipe and return

I've never dealt with a Fusion, but from what I remember from dealing with a few Fiestas, the front to rear are a mix of metal and plastic, and came as a pair. I also seem to remember them requiring quite a bit of stuff removed to feed them into place, along with the fuel tanking needing dropped.

Repairing is the far simpler option, but depending on where the leak is, it's not always possible. If it was mine, I'd look at replacing any steel sections with copper, but also hunt down some metal inserts for the plastic pipe for where you'll be putting any hose clips, to stop the plastic shrinking from the pressure of the hose clip and letting air in.

I don’t like using jubilee type clips on fuel pipes , always tend to use proper fuel pipe clips that apply even pressure ,but , when repairing plastic pipe use the push fit type fittings .

yeah after a google last night I saw it’s £68 per hose plus the fuel primer is about £20
