Ford Ranger MK2 Engine

Hi Guys,
I have a 2004 mk2 Ford ranger 2.5 Diesel. It is for sale at the moment and I have been asked a few times "what make engine is in it" .
I always thought it was made by Mazda as it is the same as a B2500 .

Would anyone know if I am right as I'm not having a lot of luck searching the web

From what I can find it's a Mazda WL or WLT if turbo version.

It is Mazda wl-3 none turbo 84hp
Wlt-3 turbo version 109hp
