Ford Puma chassis repairs

i have been shown a fail sheet for a Puma, with the expectation that I can wave a magic MIGwand and make it all right again!

It seems the the subframe mounting areas are excessively corroded as is the floorpan around a seat belt anchorage. Then there was something about an upright that was corroded. Then we have a CV boot and brake lines to sort.

Any recommendations for panel sections or advice to do it? Owner loves the car and has just had a new heated screen fitted, so looks like I am lumbered!

I would have a good look at it before I committed to doing anything on it, the old Pumas are rot boxes.

I would do my best to get unlumbered if I was you, the reason I say that is by coincidence I was asked if I would look at a Puma last year before a friend bought it, I was amazed by the corrosion, the owner got mad that we were poking our fingers through his car body.

There must have been a failing on body protection on some of them in production or it had spent it's life parked on a beach.

Every puma I've seen is either badly rotted or badly modified

It's based on a fiesta right? Don't see many that age either

Brother in law had a Puma that required new rear wheel arches and other work at just 4-5 years old due to rot.

My friend has a Y reg and it only has a few bubbles on the rear arches but it eats rear bushes. He fitted some poly bushes and it seems to have cured it now.

Didn't Yamaha have something to do with the quick engines?

They are fiesta based and it's a yamaha engine. That put them in outboard motors on their end. They are ford's so yup they rot. If you are just patching it then I'd just make bits to fill in the holes you made. They are on subtracts front and rear. The Mrs had one and drove it for a year because the garage had not done it up after some repairs. Another option would be a donor car for the flooring a fiesta of similar age would do.
