Ford Focus Heat shield

The thing is hanging loose again the heat shield that is, now the car is no youngster and this has been patched a couple of times, so if I rip the thing off is my aging steed liable to suffer any further damage.

The underneath has 3 separate ones I think running between the floor pan and the exhaust. The WWW gives differing opinions from "bung it away" to "Replace immediately" give me some common sense answers please..... Oh and I don't have access to a ramp or similar so it will be on my back in the road for any repairs, or pay some "stealership" to do the work!!!!!

ive just ripped one off of my 05 rav 4 and there is another one that will be heading the same way, annoying rattling noises drive me nuts in the car.

Park it on a kerb and the road so you have more room. RIP it off as it makes a minimal difference. If your in town driving youl feel the car get hotter out and aboutbyiubwont notice it at all

They are now part of the MOT especial the ones around the fuel tank
If it is missing were fitted as standard it will fail

will mine go through ok being an 05 plate john? ive already removed the front one as it was completly shot, the one for the diesel tank is now secured with cable ties at one end.
