Yes got it started so thanks to everyone for the advice , I know the battery is on its way out so swapped it for the car battery which is the big 019 size then bought a second hand 400 amp boost starter off ebay for £20 which is helping with some extra amps . Compression is down but once running and hot it stays good all day . Bump starting was considered but its an old Whitlock digger based on a Ford 4000 which with the bits added on the front and rear probably adds four or five tons to its weight , its the most unstable vehicle and would not like to be in the driving seat if it fell over , the only time it feels safe is when its jacked up ready to dig .
