Ford 4 viscosity cup

Anyone use a Ford 4 viscosity cup? If so any recommendations for what viscosity is best for 1.4 and 1.8mm gravity feed gun?

If you check out Max Meyers TDS I think they quote figures for Ford 4.

dip a stick in the paint and see how quick it falls off. if it hangs around its 2 thick if it falls strait of its 2 thin

If I was to use a ford cup I would then drip some off a mixing stick to make sure ford got the cup right;-)

When i drip test, i dip the stick in an inch or so and as i remove it i start to count 0 & 1 & 2 &drip drip drip. im looking for it to go from stream to drip at 2.5 seconds.

I seem to remember something around 26seconds for a 1.4 using 2K

Thanks guys. Have tracked down a chart and will see how it compares to the drip test. Just thought it might help with consistency when spraying.

Its more relevant your own application speed to be fair. my 2.5 second viscosity works for my 1 second per meter style. any slower and its going to fall off the panel again. faster and it would be dry and prone to orange peel.
