MMA SLAG

1 face burn
1 chin burn
1 arm burn
1 eyelid burn
1 blistered eyeball

I don't wonder at all those burns if you are only wearing "safety specs" Arc welding requires a full face helmet with shaded glass of at least shade #9.

I have a mask on with safety glasses on underneath but lift the mask when chipping slag

Slag is like glass -- I'd use full goggles, maybe a full face shield. You are allowed to let it cool before chipping, you know.
