Create a bank account just for business use and the software pulls information in
A good accountant. I had a rubbish one for a year and it’s was a nightmare.
Software wise, I use FreeAgent. It does what I need and far more. Invoicing, stock control, quotes, timekeeping for more than one person, allocating resources to customers etc. it will work out your tax / vat figures etc. your accountant can access it in real time so they have little to do. It talks to your bank account so each transaction is categorised for tax time.
It’s free with RBS but £20/month if you aren’t with them. Maybe NatWest as well as they’re RBS.
One very small caveat to that is not all banks are compatible with all software (e.g. Metro Bank does not seem to play well with them) so you have to treat the business account and the software as partially dependent when making your choice.

The OP seems to have gone to ground, wonder why
Very few accountants can offer sound tax advice, that's the job of a tax advisor. I wouldn't trust any accountant for sound tax advice, most will only organise what you give them and submit it.
