I cant decide if i like the look of hammered box, it sometimes looks to artificial. I think it needs to be more random.
Is it very popular with your customers.

Big no from me Kent...does,nt look right with all that iron on top

Going to be pretty much that way down below. Needs to stand out from railing design. Nothing will go together till I happy though

Actually what you see is the top rail in solid and the jamb in box. The top rail needs solid. If I can sort the railhead on the jamb that will go solid also
It's a bit of a rip off from a design I saw in the states but only loosely

Customers generally choose it over plain unless you pitch the plain. Personally I think it's a bit passé now

I'd second that, plain is def more class.
Plain hand forged quality, without the twiglet bar, like the first pic is my favorite.

Do you ever put the upright bars into punched rails with a plug weld around the bottom without a visible weld for more of the blacksmith look. I have made batches of scrolls for people in the past but never made anything like a decorative gate.

Yes the only weld you see on a spindle and double rail is the one round the railhead and bar ( which also secures the thing to the rail)
It's not punched though I drill it

Think I will look at it both ways, I am just thinking how the solid square top will blend
Might go 30 top and bottom solid and 40 flat box on sides
Needs looking at first
