Didn't know that, what is the stuff, some kind of superglue? The oil drain plug gets quite hot as the oil tends to reach 110oC in most cars, not surprising really as some of the hottest parts of an engine can reach 1000oC in some places, but the action of the oil and coolant keep things from melting.
I'd of thought that the heat would eventually cause it to fail is the worse place possible...![]()
I thought that there are 3 distinct grades of threadlock (loctite brand) out there, RED - removable cold, GREEN requires heat, PURPLE will knacker a thread, particularly in aluminium. Am I missinformed?
