Foot pedal settings

Hey guys,

I'm new to TIG welding and I'm having problems setting up my foot pedal. Machine is a Chinese WSE200P.

Id like to set up the pedal to achieve a preset amperage at 'full throttle', then taper off the amperage gradually as i let off. At present, if i adjust the knob on the pedal i can set the maximum current i want (eventhough its really sensitive and very hard to set accurately), however as i gradually back-off the pedal the current drops off really steaply making it very hard to weld.

Are there any settings on the machine i should be adjusting? Pelow is a pic of the machine, and a small pice of ally Ive been practicing on - mainly in 2t mode.

Rocker switches at left of pic... bottom row RH side, the one with a pic of a rectangle with a diagonal strike through it. That's the remote switch and looks to be set to 'off'. Machines vary some but if the pedal works with remote 'off' then it usually acts as an on/off switch rather than overriding the panel controls

The small piece of ally is too small for learning/practice, even if it's sat on a 9 inch grinder. Larger pieces of ally won't require such large changes to amperage as they don't get heat soaked so quickly. To save wasting loads of material cut some thinnish strips and tack a bunch of 'em together into two larger coupons. Switch between them as they get heat soaked
