Foot pedal question.

If I wanted a foot pedal for my parweld 212 do I just have to get one with the same number of pins that my torch uses?
Currently a 14 pin plug and socket but only 5 actually connected.
Can any 5 pin pedal be used with a simple plug swap?

You should be able to.

Two of the pins should be the switch and the other three connect to the potentiometer in the torch

In this Manual they list the plug pin connections but it may be a 9 pin plug. Remove the back shield and see if the wiring colours match

I have my old Stahlwerk pedal on mine £10 for a pedal COULD NOT WHACK IT. Cost more for a new Parweld plug. The spare plug that came with the set I fitted on a WP17F torch.

The pot inside the pedal needs to be the correct range for your machine.
Some need a NO switch and some need a NC switch so it's not always just a case of swapping the plug

MY unit didn't come with a spare plug, or maybe it did and got lost in an over excited unboxing.

Actually found mine yesterday. I decided to tidy my workshop bench and there it was. A damning example of how untidy I am as I bought and unpacked the welder in may 2021 so it's been that long since I had a clean up.

I would imagine it could work as it has the correct number of connections. Two for the switch and three for the potentiometer but I would want to know that the potentiometer value is the correct one for your machine.

Guess I could make up a little converter cable, wouldn't cost much and then I wouldn't have to take the plugs off and if it didn't work just send back as its easy with Amazon.

I am a slob too. Cannotr tidy up I would never find anything.
