Has anyone else used these? I wanted to set up some tools in my garage which is separate from the workshop and where I work on my bike etc. what I've found is that I was trading tools like spanners, allen keys etc between the two and it was getting annoying not being able to find stuff in the workshop because I'd left it in the garage.
So what I figured is if I had all the garage tools set into specific drawers I would leave them there. I already had a plastic blow-moulded case of torx and allen keys but it was stacked on a shelf with other cases and a nuisance to use. Also had a tool roll of spanners stashed away in a roll that seldom see the light of day.
So I got a 'value pack' of 30mm shadow foam sheets which is enough to do 5 drawers up to 600x400mm. Today I've done the allen keys and spanners and I've got pliers, circlip pliers, screwdrivers, sockets etc etc still to do.
Fitting all the Torx and Allen keys was a bit of a mission even though it seemed like there should be loads of space. I wanted to keep them in size order as much as I could and I managed to do that for all but the largest one.
Cutting around all the profiles with a craft knife took a bit of time but it got quicker as I went along. I got them all cut into the foam and then cut two channels so they can be picked out for use.
Now on to the spanners. I has every size from 6 to 30mm but some sizes are useless (who has ever used a 23,25,26,28 or 29mm spanner on a motorbike? So I left them out.
They look pretty good in the drawers. Only 3 more to do.
