I got a clark 165E and ive been using it with gas. Anyway, im out of gas at the mo and can i put a spool of flux coated wire in there? Do i need to do any mods to the wire feed or anything or is it just a case of plug and play.
You are supposed to reverse the polarity for gasless wire. you can try it as is (the 165E does not have polarity jumpers AFAIK). Some brands of wire seem to work ok on either polarity.
Cheers, i knew there was something to do, just couldn't remember what. No harm in trying it as it is i suppose.
Its not for me anyway, a mate has borrowed my welder. Personally if it was me i wouldnt bother, id just get my bottle re-filled, which i will do when i get my welder back.
