I have tried to find an answer to this but am unable to word it correctly
I have my mig setup with flux core 0.8mm feeder wire and am looking at getting Co2 gas.
Is it ok for me to continue to use the flux cored wire with the Co2 gas and use it up (I am about 1/2 way through the spool) before getting the non-fluxed core feeder wire
Also for the feeder wire, does it need to be of the same material as the metal being welded?
ie, if I am welding stainless steel does the feeder wire also need to be stainless steel? Can I not use one type of filler wire for all types of steel I wish to weld?
Thanks for any pointers,
K.
