Flush ceiling lights

Anyone know where i can get ceiling lights like these? Ive searched the net but there all these new low energy bulbs, its for mums house and she sews a lot so wants 180 watt of light using the old type bayonet fitting bulb.

Hello TCB,

we have a chandelier in our house and with low energy lamps had rather poor light output. My wife found some new lamps a couple of days ago and they are much better. They are (B.C.) globe lamps, much like the old incandescent in appearance but they have a halogen lamp fitted internally, rated at 105 watt, equivalent to 130 watt incandescent. I assume you can get different wattage in the same style but they are much better.

Wickes sell Philips LED lights, they are the same size & shape as a 100 watt incandescent, they're brilliant, but cost about £15 You can't use them with a dimmer though.

I have 2 sets of those(very similar) from a refurb i've just done,i'm sure but not certain they're still on site wont be back there till later this week though.

yeh the 3/5 cre ones are fantastic such good light to work by I have replaced the 12v halogen ones over my bench for them no more burn marks on top of my head

There are now 80 super bright led's in a single lamps in BC cost around £8 per lamp it can be a warm light or a day light lamp
have a look in ebay or put " 80 LED bulb " into a search engine , some sites show a massive range of lamps

Yeh I tried the muti ones.
But the 3/5 cre ones are like a welding flash compared, I think I paid £9 each for mine from the local supplier, just to try, but when fitted I was well impressed.
I had tried the low energy (should read low life !!) 240v ones before but did'nt like the 240v close to the bench, long thin welding rods etc (that would help whilst tig'in) EH!
I did try to get new eyes on NHS but Doc says they were outta stock!!

Norm I dont think that the spot type bulbs are what is being asked for .. I've just done a bit of searching for my friend in the know told me to look out for 100 plus SMD lamps in the next few months . Here is what I found.

This is one of the newest lamps that I've come across , it has 102 surface mount LED's enclosed in a light quality car headlamp tye clear plastic bulb , yes it is bayonet cap as well .

Each lamp is the same light output as a 60 watt incandescent bulb yet it uses a fraction of the energy plus it is prices as only £ 5.60 each
