Flow meter

Had a shift around in my little workshop to make space for a new floor standing drill. It's meant my welding plate is on the other side from my argon cylinder. Would it be worth adding another flow meter at the bench end of the line for easy sighting and adjustment or am i over complicating it.
was thinking one of these mounted to the wall in front of the welding plate.

A second flowmeter should be fine. Better still might be to move the argon cylinder close to the welding area. How is the argon flowrate controlled at the moment? Do you have a restrictor type regulator (i.e. the gauge on the regulator has graduations in litres/min), or is the existing flowmeter being used to regulate flow?

Why not make a bracket & mount this at your welding plate & use a bit of hose to connect it to the bottle?

TBH I wouldn't have a regulator/flow meter mounted anywhere in my welding area, to much of a chance of it getting damaged!

That was my plan, maybe use a pipe clamp and fit it to the back wall behind the bench.
The flow meters are cheap so not too worried about the odd bit of damage, I'm just wondering how annoying it'll be having the flow meter too far away if I don't have one near.

Once you set the flow rate you normally don't change it. What process is it , mig or tig? Are you able to reach the flow meter while pressing the trigger?

Tig, with my new setup the meter is too far away from my pedal, well at a stretch I probably can but not easy.

Set a brick on the pedal while you set the flow rate, simples!

Does your machine not have a flow set button or setting? Then you turn the gas on, set the flow and then turn it off.

yeah, only activates for a few seconds though, not long enough to press, run to the regulator and set before it switches off. ok when the welder was next to the cylinder

That figures. It switches off automatically to be helpful.
