Not sure if it's a bit late (you may have already sorted?) but If you have any insurance on the equipment then take some pics BEFORE you start work on it na what you find as you go along. Easier to convince them to pay out with photo prof than images of cleaned up kit! Note also keep your phone in a plastic zip top bag, would not want to bend over and drop in to water.....

As said, wash with clean water. Dry and oil all your machines. I would take the motors apart if you can to allow them to dry better, same with welders and any other electronics. Clean and dry all circuit boards, then spray with water displacement spray and reassemble with dessicant packets inside (silica gel or similar).
I would guess power tool batteries would be ******* if water has got inside them as all the cells would have shorted.
On the bright side; It's a good excuse to clean your workshop.

Yes, they're both desiccants, as is calcium sulphate, which I believe is commonly available in bulk for this purpose.

Thanks for the advise. The main workshop in Armley had over 5ft of water in it. Which is about 4ft higher then a plaque from 1866.
Still trying to electricity back on so I can see. And repair burst main in toilets that's made me isolate all the water.
The other workshop at Thwaite only had 3ft through with no major water damage to the lathes/mill. The problem there is the river has burst through into the canal which has caused havoc with the boats moored there.
Trying to get over the shock and confusion of the damage and work out where to start first. I've got a busy few months ahead.
