Flatting primer on the back of panels

I've primed a couple of car wings, ready for paint, and I've flatted back the outer surface as usual. However, I've not done the inner surface, and to be honest, I don't really want to.

Am I ok spraying paint onto those surfaces? I don't mind about the inevitable orange peel, because it'll be covered in Waxoyl afterwards anyway

Just wondering if there's any downside other than it's not "professional".

I've never worked at or known of any garage that flatted the back of panels.
Only people I've known to flat the back of panels are old geezers who take their pride and joy to concours car shows, where some judge might take a decko underneath the wing if he feels like it.
Just make sure to give them as heavy or heavier spray coating as they get on the front. If they are to be waxoyled afterwards nothing is going to show anyway, as you say.

Wicked. This is my first round of using a proper compressor to paint (as opposed to rattle cans) so I'm not familiar with what you might call good Shop Technique. Got to know no-one cares about orange peel on the underside... other than the wife.

I think you've gotta decide if you're gonna paint it or not, if you are painting it, why are you not keying it? Not being funny, but running a scotchbrite over it is hardly going to be hard work is it?

Oh, I know, I know, but I understood there to be a big difference between keying and flatting. On the outer face I've used 240, 360 and 600; I just scrubbed with 240 on the inner face, and didn't want to have to get into all the nooks and crannies with 600, that's all.

If your not bothered about the finish just scotch with a red scotch and paint it
