Flat and polish direct gloss comes up dull.

Resprayed car with maxmayers 2k direct gloss about 1 week ago and there was a few nibs and orange peel in areas. I wet flat the worst out with p1200 and p2000 by hand then finished with DA with p3000. Now I cant seem to get the swril marks out or the gloss back. I have used G3 cutting compound with DA and then finished with autosmart fine finishing polish, but cant seem to get good finish. Where am i going wrong? Could the paint need longer to cure?

Pics would help but it sounds like you haven't sanded out the 1200grit scratches

I normally start at 2k wet with a block, then 3k and 5k trizact style discs before machine polishing with a rotary polisher. A da style machine just doesn't cut quickly

I also would have dry sanded 1000 (if it was bad) to 2000, then wet sand at 3000, followed by rotary polisher with g3 .....bear in mind how much you remove with sanding depends on what kind of finish you're after (glass or manufacturer).....and microfibre wash off between each sanding grade too. Did you use decent branded discs? ( I quite often just use indasa wet and dry with hand sanding).....the no name Chinese stuff can be dubious

if you kept it immaculately clean when sanding it should be ok

i would say you need a proper rotary buffer not a da to polish it up, has way more bite

As above, I very much doubt a da style polisher has the grunt to do the job.
