They also do them curved/double sided, for gettjng right into welds.

Those Pferd ones work great but they last seconds cleaning up fillets!

Yes. The blue Zirconium, I’m now on the red ceramic ones which are a little better. Good thing is even when you’ve worn off the curve they still function as a flat disc.

win win then. how about a die grinder with bur for the internals to clean up the worst then a flap to neaten.

I’ve got air and battery die grinders but I hate the shavings they fling everywhere.

I’ve always bought off ebay, or at car shows, sometimes just a quid each, in packs of ten. Probably not world class equipment but for hobby use they’re more than worth it. I’ve never had one burst, or any of the usual horror stories I’ve heard about cheap discs.
I just had a look, usually I’ve got an assortment, flat, angled, narrow etc, but only two types now.
once ive used the sharp edge of a new disc , I back cut it on a bench grinder and they are nice and sharp and fresh and off they go again , good as new , especially for thinning fillet welds on sill bottoms etc when you dont want them to look .. just welded.

Yeah I use ones that come in at under a quid each, not fancy curved edges though. Never had an issue.
I was trying to sort the workshop out again and kept coming across part boxes of them and it was then I noticed some were flat and some angled.
I use the lower grit ones for shaping wood. Tend to clog after not too long, but safer than those "wood carving" discs I feel.
I also kept coming across discarded worn ones .... really need a bin in there

I’ve just started using a die grinder, the chips going everywhere annoys me too. Think it’s going to be an outside tool

I've a few carbide bits that fit a dremel which I use for finer cleaning up on occasion.
Very reluctant to use it much though because the chips it produces are like tiny daggers
