How to fix this it's a extendable brush that takes water but not worried about this just want to use it as a brush

Glue, then a few good wraps with self amalgamating rubber tape.

fixed it i hope
got some glue down it got a 6mm mechine screw a lock nut drilled out the rivet so i caould get to both sides tapered the top of the screw part droped the screw in from under neath put in a large nut followed by the lock nut the large nut will help keep it from pulling through and put a screw in place of the rivet to hold the head on
will try it in a few days when the glue is solid but the nut should do all the work needed

glad to hear you fixed it,
but it looked like a fine opportunity to sort out a decent lathe and milling machine, and a large lump of prime ally billet... spend several hundred hours installing them, then a couple of hours turning one up, threading it, then milling the slots. That would have fixed it properly, and the job would only take a couple of hours too...
Now, some might see that as excessive, but I'd have to disagree, a job is worth doing right......

i would say i need more tools but my other half may have other ideas and i dont think spending £700 on a lath and a few more hundred on bits to make a bit of metal fit a brush head would be a very good excuse
more so as a new brush was only £14.99 new
so 30p on a bolt and washer i can live with if it fails so be it

But you can amortize the tooling over several such jobs and that can make it cost effective, I tell my wife this all the time.
Only another few thousand brushes to fix here :-)

a lath is one of my wants items but as there big ,costly and use full to me little for those i need a little shim off this that could be a bit shorter as i can do it /most of faster by getting a grinder out or a wrap of emery paper to slim it down i cant even say to my self i need one

Fixed mine the same way you have, albeit mine is made of cast metal not plastic.|
I removed the end from the shaft, drilled a 10mm clearance hole then used a socket cap and nyloc nut to fix the head on then riveted the whole assembly back onto the shaft.
It's been perfect ever since.
