Fixing aluminium to perspex

I'm making a display case (or at least changing the shelves) to display all my 3D printed + painted models.
The idea is to use 6mm acrylic (which I have lots of) to make the shelves, then glue some cabinet strip lights to each shelf. (Which I also have loads of).

The usual double sided tape detaches - presumably because of the heat from the lights.

I'm looking for either a recommendation for some (economic) tape or an adhesive.

(I have some vhb car badge tape which works very well,but it seems overkill/expensive for this job)

RTV - Used for fish tanks, both glass and acrylic - Screwfix basic stuff works great

best to follow the glass shelves of shops

though i really did like @Burdekin display cabinet mixed with light stained wood corners and glass

LEDs *do* produce heat.
Not a lot, but enough to loosen the tape.

<Edit: I realise I didn't say LED in the original question, but that *is* what I'm using.>

Get some of the double-sided tape Pro shops use when regripping golf clubs, it's solvent activated and sticks like the proverbial to a blanket. You have to work quickly though.....

I may even still have some from when I used to do them, you're welcome to have it to try, I'll have a look in the cave tomorrow if you like?

I can't remember how much it costs, but if they offer you a roll in exchange for a vital organ, I'm happy to supply/lend you mine .
