right, had a look inside the mig today. few issues really, few components gone on pcb, mostly resistors, the thermal overload has melted and the wire feed motor relay had burnt out.
had everything I needed to fix it so had a bash with the soldering iron and joy of joys, it works again. I have converted it back to standard gasless at the moment with the original torch as I think using it with gas, wired oppositely to how it came out of the factory may have been the cause of some of the problems.
anyway, all is well, except it seem right. it welds, arc sounds good, penetration is good, but the welds seem tiny compared to how they were before. more thin than anything. I have tried hanging around and weaving to make a wider bead but all it does is blow through on 2mm and I get a horrible ugly weld.
any idea? im suing the same gasless wire as always, same technique etc
