Fitting capacitors...

I've been thinking...
More expensive Migs have capacitors to help smooth the Dc output, Would it be possible to fit them to a Clarke 151EN? From reading, KI think I'll need something like 50v 5000uf?
Your thoughts would be appreciated

That will do. It should be low ESR caps.

5000uf (I've used 4,700) will help the arc stability but not increase the output voltage much. Larger caps will increase the minimum current/voltage and also increase the surge when the trigger is pulled.

They go across the rectifier output (before the output choke.)
