fitting 5kg wire reel to industrial Mig welder?

I have a job coming in that involves a Mig welded sculpture in stainless.
I know that 15kg reels are the cheapest way to buy the wire. times are tight, so how easy is it to fit a 5kg reel to my welder? is straight in or do I need some adaptor thingy?

of course that is easier, for some strange reason i had the idea you wanted the 1kg reel in my head all i can say is its getting late

The adapter is the best way. you can also just use a spacer. Anything with a 2" ID; some rolls of tape are the right size.

I made one using a small section of 2.25" OD exhaust pipe.

wicks do a pipe connector for down spout that is fitting great in mine

most 5Kg spools have the same centre as a 15Kg (50mm) but it will be thinner. If youve got a screw fastening type it will fit otherwise make a few washers

Sounds simpe then, I was thinking of the adaptors for the very small reels.
No problems.
