I had a shoe and a some sort of bag attached once,
A friend of mine was carping on the canal and saw an old coat drifting past. It was in danger of catching the lines as it slowly went past so he lifted his rods up and held the line high til it drifted past.
The coat turned out to be the dead body of an elderly woman.
