done all sorts of fishin, me favourite is fly fishing (once caught a 2lb bluebottle) for trout and sea trout, but binned the seatrout as they are on their way upriver to spawn-so I thought leave em be-ditto salmon.
I got into rough stream fishing-totally wild rivers, no cutting back of trees etc and wild trout.
Bloke who owned rights on one stretch asked me how I had done, "caught the biggest bag ever on the river today, and, my first ever, fresh water sole" "blimey sez he" "how many" "come an have a look sez me"
So I pulled out a big plastic rubble sack I had hooked in a pool (mercifully not full of kittens/puppies) " ya daft beggar" sez he " and wots this about the freshwater sole?" so I whips out the sole of a plimsole I had hooked in a run

Another time, I was loch style drifting on a lake, I'd got a bit specialist and was using a 20' leader with a team of tiny gnats I had tied up meself. I hooked a trout on the point (end) fly, and, whilst I was playing it out, a swallow took one of the flies on the droppers. I managed to sort it all out and the budgie flew off ok, and I let the trout go to live another day.

Weird catches?
Eels twice on sea trout flies on separate occasions at night (river Hodder)
Heron on livebait it let go after spooling me unharmed ( North Yorks estate lake)
A Turn on a fly while bass fishing in the salt (it hovered and then dived coming up with my fly in its beak then dropped it) Anglesey

Must've been fun unhooking that!
My girlfriend caught some kind of freshwater clam on a plug whilst fishing on our local small lake in Ireland. Last year on the same lake she went to cast her line, felt a light 'thud' mid-swing and watched in horror as a swallow fell dead at her feet!

I knew a bloke who caught a bat while fly fishing for sea trout on the Teifi at dusk.
Another bloke I worked with caught a bull on a spinner when he was fishing in the Severn. He swung the rod behind him to cast and he heard hooves rumbling and the line was running out. Then he looked round and there was a bull trailing line running across the field.

Caught a few seagulls in the dock using floating bread trying to catch mullet! My mate caught me as He went to cast, right in the thumb. And coming in after a day's boat fishing a guy cast a 4oz lead sinker with claws on off one of the piers on the channel,which proceeded to hit our uncle stood on deck and wrap round him a few times, he went down fairly quickly I must admit

Me and a few lads from the village go out boat fishing from Beer on the Dorset coast every couple of months, went out last week and the Jellyfish are the size of dustbins at the moment!

I once caught a fishing rod.
Using a handline in a harbour I pulled out a rod and reel with all the tackle aged about 12.
I then caught a small Pollack with said rod.
Went back to base with my supper and got accused of 'finding' the gear. Harbourmaster confirmed that he saw me catch it.
Some toffee nosed kid bunged it in the day before in a strop.

Just booked my weeks holiday for the first time in 10 years. A boat of the Broads, and just this evening purchased my fishing licence. Haven't been fishing in 5 years at least, so all new terminal tackle, and maybe some new nets too!
