First Project

Followed someone else's idea from this forum and tried it myself. The box section is 25mm x 25mm x 2mm and the plate is 3mm. It needs a second coat but wanted to show it off. My welding has improved with the addition of a big CO2 bottle and flow meter.

Sorry is this is pic overload but i was really chuffed.

Well done.. a trolley to be proud of, are you keeping it in the living room for a while so visitors can see it before it ends up dirty, scratched and grubby like mine has :-)

Nice one! I especially like the jigging - what kind of clamps are they and how do they work?

Steve - The wife would kill me if i even stepped in the house in my work boots.

Mal - The jigs were from a local hardware store....you wont believe it but £2.50 each and open up to 3" cheap make but do the job, more designed for framing but they worked for me.

Inside corner weld.

I use cheap clamps too - it's a good way to make sure I have lots of them.

Great first project ,And good deal on the corner clamps, You could make it a little more compact if you fitted the welding set on the other way round (would make for a better angle as the torch lead leaves the casing) and reposition the gas bottle on the other end,coming up thro' the handle,

This......thought it would only need one coat but needs 2 and it took 3/4 of the tin to do one coat

Nice one Angus .....did you ever try the argoshield?or go straight to co2?...looking good either way ,have you tried the co2 on body panels yet? and did you you hit the thermal cut off on the welder during the build?......whats next?

Went straight to CO2 because i got a bottle from my local landlord for £15. Not tried CO2 on body panels yet mate and never hit the thermal cut off.

Next is a trailer that is in bad need or restoration.....but i will need help and advise from you guys on here
