Hello All.
I'm strictly a hobbyist, just getting started welding.
I started with a Harbor Freight 90 amp model. I got to where I could make reasonably good welds with it but finally felt the need to upgrade. I got a Lincoln Weld-Pak 125 from Home Depot. Once I got the settings figured out, I'm making some pretty nice welds and I'm very happy with the machine. The only thing that bugs me about it is that wire feed settings over 5 seem to be unusable. Even the recommendations for the machine don't list over 4 for 5/16 steel. What are 6-10 for? I'd much rather have the ability to make finer adjustments from 1-5 than have 6-10 that I can't use. Can anyone clarify?
Thanks very much
