First Mini Project attempt

Had to make a jig today as planning to replace a chassis leg on my mk2

i know its not great but i was pleased it all held together

thoughts please constructive of course

My possative input is this, I hope you take a load of measurments and photos to relate them to.

No, it's not that bad!
It's ugly, it's crude, but it ought to work ok and that's the essential thing.

cheers it was never gonna be pretty and will disembled once the job is complete but bearing in mind i had only welded a few beads on sheet metal and a couple of lap joints i thought i done ok - you have to start somewhere all i know is when you remove the nut from the nearside cross section nothing moves which must be fairly good - well i hope any way lol

As long as you've got a few reference points, which you have, and nothing moves when you undo that nut then I reckon you've got it sorted.

Hey the jig looks great to me, I'd be more worried about the large hole where the front end of your car used to be rather than the appearance of the jig itself as woz says if it does the job that's all that matters.

I am only concerend it does not twist on you.

If it was me, I would have removed less of the bodywork in one go.
and I would have put a few cross braces,

getting it all to line up is what makes a finnished car look smart.
