First Lizard

Had a go at a small lizard for no particular reason the other day, just a bit of practice really. I suffer with shaky hands (something or other 'tremor' the Dr called it) and so small stuff can be tricky.
He/she is about 14" long.



Took me most of the day as I had no plans or idea and don't have the some of the right tools for the job. Hacksawing off 4mm rod is laborious. To that end what best for cutting rod up to 6mm? Would bolt cutters be okay?
Also any easier/quicker clamping methods than a standard vice. As I say shaky hands means once in the vice there is little to rest/lean on to steady myself.

I just use bolt cutters, for 6mm rod a 450-600mm set would do, also depends on what sort or rod you are cutting, for 8mm I would go for the 600mm set.
Having said that I often also just clamp the rod in the vice and use a cut off wheel in a hand held grinder. Nice lizard by the way!

Thats sweet.
Bolt croppers held in the vice is the way to go.
Regards shakiness can you rig up a small rail to rest your arm on?

Just did a bit of Googling and YouTube seems to have a number of DIY arm rest builds. I shall have a go at something sometime, thanks for the thought.
