First attempts at TIG!!!!

We got a new Esab T220i with a foot pedal at work for me to start learning to tig.

Here are my first attempts at Steel. I was quite happy with the final welds after 2 hours playing.

I was welding 2mm and 5mm steel. The 5mm was 11 lpm with 180amp and the 2mm was 11 lpm with 70amps. I'm thinking the lpm may be abit high???

I've started playing with stainless and ali. My struggel is fine tuning the gas lpm and the amps.

I'm trying to weld 1.8mm ali tube and .9mm stainless tube and struggling. Any hints/tips wpould be great

Try 6lpm on steel, first pic is undercut but pics get better as you go down, practise practise practise, good effort though

Looking good, and what Lanky says is what I thought. Fun, isn't it?

Good start, make sure you clean the mill scale and rust off the metal too
