Hi guys... Had a go at joining 2 x 2mm pieces of steel strip today. I was running on 45 Amps, using 2mm 6013 rods. These were sold to me as general purpose.
The weld starts from left to right, first pic shows the top, second the back.
I started on quite a shallow angle to get the arc going but as I slowly brought it up to 30° from verticle it blew through. I tried this so I could find the best angle for myself.
Am I running on too higher current, whats the best angle. I got good penetration just before it blew through. However there wasn't much in it, either none or through.
